Allocating more memory to minecraft
« on: July 02, 2012, 04:08:05 PM »
I recently tried allocating more memory to minecraft (and java). However, after I did it the same amount of MB was allocated as before. This are the codes I used:

run.bat file:
javaw -Xmx2048m -Xms1024m -jar "C:\Users\Milan\Desktop\minecraft.exe"

java runtime paramaters:
Xincgc -Xmx2048M

Also I do have the right version of java installed and tried reinstalling CMD

If anyone could help me that would be great.

@echo off
java -client -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseAdaptiveGCBoundary -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=500 -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit -XX:SurvivorRatio=12 -Xnoclassgc -XX:UseSSE=3 -Xincgc -Xmx2048M -cp Minecraft.exe net.minecraft.LauncherFrame
exit

Thats what i run in a bat file, seems to work. it also helps run HD texture packs more smoothly
