FPS Problems
« on: November 02, 2013, 10:24:36 PM »
So ive bought myself a new Laptop. Well im not sure if you can call it Laptop, its an Alienware 18.
So far im loving it but since a week the fps rate is dropping. I have played Black Ops 2 with 120 FPS for 3 Weeks but since the last Week the FPS dropped to 60. Ive tried the Alienware Programm AlienAutopsy, restart the lapltop and ive run a Virus check with Mcaffee. So far nothing helped and im stuck on 60 FPS.

Do you guys know if there is a way to regain my 120 FPS? If so please help!

a laptop will always be faster when you get it, on my first week of having my laptop it would always be running minecraft at at least 600fps, but now it runs at around 60 on average, it's normal that your fps is deteriorating because laptops get slower over time. Try clearing some hard drive space by deleting unused files that should make it faster.

Well you see this laptop is pretty new and expensive. I dont think itll just get slower after a month and besides the fps rate halfed. If it would get slower i think it would slow down like 20 fps at first but it just halfed.

You probably ended up changing a setting and now the game is running on the Intel integrated graphics card built into the laptop instead of running through the actual graphics card so make sure its set up correctly

Ive already went into my driver menu and set everything on highest performance. Ive checked for updates on my graphic card and everything. Also i have ccleaner (i had that on every laptop of mine) and i bought TuneUp Utilize which defrags my pc.
The only thing i know now is resetting my pc but ive got no idea how to. Its an alienware which boots in 3 seconds no chance of pressing F8. I have to work something up....

What graphics card do you have in the laptop, it would be easier to link the laptop itself to me.

Did you turn on vsync on the game. This will lock the fps to the refresh rate of your monitor (60 fps)

Ok now that i know about the laptop i think i have an idea, it could be a problem with windows 8.1 if you updated to it, i know that it changed allot of things and is now incompatible with games such as league of legends
